Because of Explore the Pearl Magazine's small budget, I would often shoot some of the photos myself and mix them with a professional photographer's images and/or with sourced images. Besides budget, another benefit to me shooting the images myself was that it strengthened our ties to the community. Business owners began to recognize me as the girl with the tripod hanging from her backpack. 

This home feature mixes my photography with Paul Wagtouicz's photography and a couple of sourced images.
